
Duncan Craig is the founder and CEO of We Are Survivors, the largest male victim/survivor organisation in the UK
Using his lived experience as a survivor, for over 18 years, he’s worked and advised Government, NHS, CPS, and Police forces on VAWG and sexual offending.
He is a long standing advisor to the past 3 Victims Commissioners, formally representing Dame Vera Baird in reviews.
Duncan works extensively with the media as a script consultant/storyline advisor on Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Casualty; as a subject matter advisor and commentator for Crimewatch, BBC News, various documentaries, etc. His work has taken him to Iceland, USA, New Zealand, Cambodia, Uganda and currently the Hague with the International Criminal Court.
In 2020, Duncan received an OBE from Her Majesty the Queen for services to Male Victims of Rape and Child Abuse and in 2022 he was awarded the University of Manchester’s Medal of Honor for his work with male survivors. He is currently also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the School of Criminology.
In 2024, Duncan co-authored “Nobody believes you if you’re a bloke’: Barriers to disclosure and help-seeking for male forced-to-penetrate victims/survivors” in the International Review of Victimology.
