Understanding Severe Mental Illnesses

£25.00

This self-access class offers a foundational understanding of severe mental illness, its impact on sexual functioning, and increased confidence in working with service users diagnosed with it.

CPD Hours: 1.5

We are rightly much more aware and informed about mental health these days, but often the focus is on well-being and more ‘common’ mental health problems, leaving severe and enduring mental illnesses less discussed.

This training is designed specifically for Psychosexual and Relationship Therapists, offering an essential overview of less common but more severe and enduring mental health conditions. Participants can explore the symptoms, diagnostic criteria, treatment approaches, and recovery pathways for these conditions. The session also examines how such illnesses may present in psychosexual and relational contexts, equipping therapists with the knowledge and tools to support service users effectively and compassionately.

By broadening your understanding of these complex conditions, you can enhance your ability to provide inclusive, informed care to service users experiencing significant mental health challenges in their relationships and sexual well-being. This training is a valuable opportunity to deepen your professional expertise and make a meaningful impact.
