This self-access class focuses on the specific 7-eye Model of Supervision from a Queer lens with intersectionality. This training offers specific LGBTQ+ knowledge and an opportunity to explore how to apply that specialist knowledge within the supervisory context. There will be more information on in depth learning too for those who are interested.

The training will include lectures, conversations and practice, as well as an opportunity to self-reflect on supervisor’s bias and blind spots regarding gender, sex and relationship diversities.

On this training, you will learn:

  1. The specificities of the LGBTQ+ populations.
  2. In-depth understanding of the application of the 7-eye model of supervision with supervisees working with the LGBTQ+ populations.
  3. The supervisor/ supervisee dynamic in relations to sexual, gender and relationship diverse populations.
  4. Thorough understanding of the ethical considerations.

About the Trainers

Rima Hawkins is a British Asian COSRT & UKCP accredited, BACP registered sex and relationship psychotherapist and a supervisor.

Rima Hawkins

Her primary model of working is Humanistic-Integrative Psychotherapy with individuals, couples & polycules. As a queer therapist, Rima’s interest & curiosity in diversity comes from her own intersectionalities. She works through transcultural/interculturalism lens with sexual dysfunctions and Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) or LGBTQIA plus clients. Rima has been instrumental in changing the way victims of sexual violence is responded to by the national services, following a disclosure. She is aware of the challenges clients face from different communities.

Rima is a tutor and a member of the leadership team for Contemporary Institute for Clinical Sexology (CICS) and a Pink Therapy Mentor. She’s a co-director of the CICS Diploma in Supervision with Silva Neves.

Silva Neves is a COSRT-accredited and UKCP-registered psychosexual and relationship psychotherapist, and a trauma psychotherapist.

Silva Neves

He is a Pink Therapy Clinical Associate. Silva specialises in working with sexual trauma and compulsive sexual behaviours. He speaks internationally on sex, relationships, LGBTQ+ topics, and trauma.

Silva is a COSRT-accredited clinical supervisor. He is a Course Director for CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology).

He is a member of the editorial board for the leading international journal Sex and Relationship Therapy. He is also the author of Compulsive Sexual Behaviours, A Psycho-Sexual Treatment Guide for Clinicians (Routledge, 2021)
