This self-access class examines how templates of infantile sexuality are expressed in adulthood, offering insights into the ways early developmental patterns may shape adult intimacy, desire, and relational dynamics. 

You will gain: 

  • An introduction to key concepts: Understand the idea of infantile sexuality templates and their relevance to Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. 
  • Exploration of adult expression: Consider how these early templates can manifest in adult sexual behaviour and relationships. 
  • Clinical reflections: Reflect on the implications of these ideas for therapeutic work with service users exploring the roots of their sexual and relational difficulties.

About the Trainer

Ariel Nathanson

Ariel Nathanson works with, both young and adult, present with other forms of problematic sexual behaviours, fantasies and addictions. Ariel’s work at the Portman Clinic in London (part of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust) is focused on these issues.

Ariel Nathanson (MA, MPsych) is a Consultant Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist. He is a member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), the Bowlby Centre and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Ariel has published, focusing on clinical forensic work and organisational consultation. He has specialised in working with young people who present as risky and harmful to others.
